Estimando a altura da escola - uma proposta de estudo investigativo
Este artigo é o relato de uma
atividade investigativa realizada em uma escola
pública estadual com alunos do segundo ano
do ensino médio brasileiro, orientada pelo
professor de física das turmas e assistida
por bolsistas do PIBID/UFMG. A atividade
propôs como questão inicial a medida da
altura do prédio da escola, em que os alunos
deveriam propor soluções que perpassassem
por conceitos físicos relacionados à óptica.
Após a realização da atividade investigativa
os resultados foram avaliados, catalogados
e apresentados aos alunos, mostrando toda
a variedade de métodos utilizados e as
justificativas para a realização da investigação.
Houve forte recepção, por parte dos alunos,
quanto as particularidades de cada método
desenvolvido. Após todos esses processos, os
resultados foram levados ao grupo de estudos
do PIBID-Física da UFMG e a partir de então
foi gerada uma discussão a respeito das
características de uma atividade investigativa
e qual a importância de atividades desse tipo
no processo de ensino/aprendizagem. Com um
olhar crítico e elaborado a respeito do tema o
grupo chegou a um consenso de que atividades
dessa natureza contribuem amplamente para o
desenvolvimento crítico e científico dos alunos.
Compreendemos assim, que o foco principal da
atividade vivenciada não estava nos resultados
finais e sim no processo de aprendizagem dos
alunos.

Abstract:
This article is the report of an
investigative activity carried out in a state public
school with students of the second year of
Brazilian high school, guided by the professor of
physics of the classes and assisted by scholars
of PIBID / UFMG. The activity proposed as an
initial question the measure of the height of
the school building, in which students should
propose solutions that permeate physical
concepts related to optics. After the research activity, the results were evaluated,
cataloged and presented to the students, showing the full range of methods used and
the justifications for the research. There was strong reception by the students as to
the particularities of each method developed. After all these processes, the results
were taken to the study group of the PIBID-Physics of the UFMG and from then on a
discussion was generated about the characteristics of an investigative activity and the
importance of activities of this type in the teaching / learning process . With a critical
and elaborated look on the subject the group reached a consensus that activities of this
nature contribute greatly to the critical and scientific development of the students. We
thus understood that the main focus of the activity was not on the final results but on
the students’ learning process.
