Abstract: Based on the reality of sandy textured soils, it became desirable to improve cultivation techniques capable of minimizing the problems associated with the structuring of soils in the Baixada Fluminense of Rio de Janeiro, taking into account the different types of management and soil cover. The present work aimed to evaluate whether there is an influence between the different management systems, namely the Conventional System (SC) and the Direct Planting System (SPD) and different types of vegetation cover (Crotalaria, Cocktail 1, Cocktail 2, Pork Beans, Millet and Spontaneous Plants) with regard to soil structuring, with aggregate stability as an indicative parameter. For this, undisturbed samples were collected at a depth of 0-10 cm in a production unit in Rio de Janeiro, for subsequent wet and dry aggregate stability analyses. Finally, a greater influence of the management system was observed, with the SC being lower, as well as the coverage of Spontaneous Plants and Crotalaria which presented lower performance in general and, conversely, the coverage of Pork Beans presented the best results.
