Abstract: "THIS WORK WAS DEVELOPED AS PART OF THE COMPLETION OF A COURSE AT THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION: CENTRO UNIVERSITÁRIO DAS FACULDADOS ASSOCIADAS DE ENSINO (UNIFAE)" With the diagnosis of childhood cancer, the child is subjected to various treatments that expose them to pain and suffering, changes in family dynamics and social life, often with physical and psychological limitations. For the Cancer Child, the disease is discovered abruptly and is quickly placed in a new scenario. Along with the adversities experienced by patients, strategies for coping with the disease can help in the process of acceptance and search for a cure. The objective of the present study was to map types of evidence of effectiveness and efficacy of hope for coping with pediatric cancer, through a scoping review. For the bibliographic search, scientific production from the last ten years was considered. The collection of articles was carried out critically based on the recommendations of the PRISMA guide and the PICO strategy was used to construct the problem question. To select the articles, descriptors in English and Portuguese were used to combine and track studies involving: “oncological children”, “oncological children”, “coping”, “hope”, “hope”, “hope in children”. The following electronic databases were used: PubMed, Scielo and Portal Periódicos Capes. Six articles published between 2012 and 2020 were found. The results, through the selected articles, showed that life expectancy is used as a strategy to combat childhood cancer. There is evidence that hope contributes positively to coping with childhood cancer, reducing anxiety, overcoming difficulties experienced, improving quality of life and state of mind. There was a lack of studies that evaluated hope as a coping strategy from the perspective of children with cancer.
