Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the structural characteristics and effects of fulvic acid extracted from vermicompost (AFVC) as a foliar biostimulant in the early development of rice plants (Oryza sativa L.). The AFVC characterization was performed using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Rice seeds of the nippombare variety were subjected to six increasing AFVC treatments, applied via foliar spray (0 to 100 mg L-1), with sampling at 25 days after germination. AFVC showed a predominance of structures indicating greater lability, which is favorable for foliar application. The 80 mg L-1 dose was the most effective in biomass accumulation. AFVC proved to be a promising and sustainable alternative for rice cultivation.
