Abstract: The militarization of schools in Brazil reveals debates within the academic sphere and civil society, where opinions and thoughts tend to follow two main perspectives, particularly when driven by the context of current educational policies. As such, the objective of this work was to conduct an analysis of the emergence of what we consider to be the territorial movement of centralized and decentralized schools in Boa Vista, Roraima. It also aims to highlight the potential disputes arising around the decentralized urban zones through the lens of locally implemented public policies, especially concerning the militarized schools. The research adopts a qualitative approach for analysis, employing Bardin's (2004) Content Analysis as the methodological procedure. This approach allowed for a critical examination of the decree approving the general regulations of militarized colleges in Roraima, as well as the decrees that established the first schools in Boa Vista. The study concludes that the militarized schools gain increasing prestige among the people of Roraima each year, particularly for populations residing in the decentralized urban zones of Boa Vista. In contrast, the schools located in the central areas of the city receive a different perspective from society.
