ENTRE CULTURAS: A MISSÃO CIENTÍFICA AUSTRO-ALEMÃ DE 1817 AO BRASIL
A missão científica austro-alemã de
1817, que percorre o território do Brasil, é um
marco social e histórico no processo de relações
interculturais que surgem, a partir do período
da Independência, entre o Brasil e a Europa.
Como resultado dessa expedição científica,
diversas obras foram publicadas por naturalistas
europeus, descrevendo diversos aspectos da
sociedade brasileira de então, como a natureza,
a flora e a fauna, a organização social e estudos
de etnologia sobre as línguas indígenas. Entre
os principais autores da época, destaca-se Carl
F. P. von Martius, naturalista bávaro, autor de
diversos estudos sobre o Brasil. Analisamos a
relação entre linguagem e a natureza, a partir
da Ecolinguística, neste estudo

Abstract:
The Austro-German scientific
mission of 1817, which crosses the territory of
Brazil, is a social and historical milestone in the
process of intercultural relations that emerge,
from the period of Independence, between
Brazil and Europe. As a result of this scientific
expedition, several works were published
by European naturalists, describing various aspects of Brazilian society at the time, such as
nature, flora and fauna, social organization and
ethnology studies on indigenous languages.
Among the leading authors of the time, I highlight
Carl F. P. von Martius, a Bavarian naturalist,
author of several studies on Brazil. I analyze
the relationship between language and nature,
based on Ecolinguistics, in this study.
