ENTRE AS MARGENS DO RIO: DIÁSPORA, IMPRESSÕES LITERÁRIAS E CONSTRUÇÃO DE UTOPIAS
O pensamento diaspórico, presente na literatura contemporânea, visa a fundação de novas formas de linguagem imiscuída na refundação dos imaginários culturais apagados ao longo dos últimos séculos de barbárie e colonização. De matriz epistemológica variada, que vai desde a teoria crítica até o pensamento decolonial, teóricos, artistas e escritores à margem da produção lírica ou científica incorporada pelos canais oficiais de divulgação e manutenção da memória coletiva, recriaram, a partir da cultura ancestral e das marcas e cicatrizes ainda bastante vivas naqueles espoliados e marginalizados pela cultura europeia, novas formas de expressão. Caryl Phillips, romancista caribenho, é um dos protagonistas deste movimento tão multifacetado que nos faz refletir sobre a diáspora negra. Nesta perspectiva, o intuito deste pequeno ensaio é analisar o romance A Travessia do Rio, suas diversas nuanças e sua proposta inventiva de refundar a memória negra em confluência aos diversos choques culturais forçosamente impostos pela diáspora. As três histórias do livro são fragmentos narrativos repletos de simbologia, de memórias que nos conectam a novas formas de experienciar o outro que está em nós.

Abstract:
The diasporic theory, present in contemporary literature, aims at the foundation of new forms of language. It is involved in the refoundation of cultural imaginaries erased over the last centuries of barbarism and colonization. From a varied epistemological field, ranging from critical theory to decolonial theory, researchers, artists and writers outside the lyrical or scientific production incorporated by the official channels of dissemination and maintenance of collective memory, recreated new forms of expression, from the ancestral culture and brands and scars still quite alive in those dispossessed and marginalized by European culture. Caryl Phillips, Caribbean novelist, is one of the protagonists of this multifaceted movement that makes us think about the black diaspora. In this perspective, the purpose of this short essay is to analyze the novel Crossing the River, its several nuances and its inventive idea to refound black memory in confluence with the various cultural shocks forcibly imposed by the diaspora. The three stories in the book are narrative fragments full of symbology, memories that connect us to new ways of experiencing the other that is in us.
