ENTRE A GLÓRIA E A LOUCURA - A PERSONAGEM FEMININA NA PROSA REGIONALISTA DE INOCÊNCIA, FOGO MORTO E LAVOURA ARCAICA
Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo identificar quais os fatores que promovem a alternância entre a valorização e a desvalorização das personagens femininas retratada nas obras Inocência, de Visconde de Taunay, Fogo Morto, de José Lins do Rego e Lavoura Arcaica, de Raduan Nassar. Para atender o objetivo geral, fez-se necessário identificar as características da prosa regionalista brasileira; compreender as discussões de gênero; descrever os valores histórico-culturais em vigor no período de produção das obras selecionadas; analisar as personagens femininas Inocência, de Inocência; Sinhá e Olívia, de Fogo Morto e Ana, de Lavoura Arcaica a partir do contexto histórico de produção das obras; identificar e descrever os fatores de adequação ou inadequação das personagens femininas selecionadas para análise em relação ao tempo histórico das narrativas. O método adotado foi a leitura das obras Inocência, Fogo Morto e Lavoura Arcaica, seguido da revisão teórica sobre os assuntos que compõem o tema deste estudo: prosa regionalista, contexto histórico-cultural brasileiro no período de 1872, 1943 e 1975; e artigos que discutem as questões de gênero. Após a realização da leitura das obras regionalistas, foram selecionadas as personagens femininas mais expressivas nas três narrativas. Na sequência, foi desenvolvida a análise comparativa entre a personagem de ficção e o contexto real das mulheres do mesmo tempo histórico. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam para o fato de que o tempo histórico das narrativas - compreendido entre meados do século XIX e fim do XX, é marcado pela intensa depreciação da mulher que, não raro, era reduzida e inferiorizada perante a figura masculina. Na ficção, essa prática em que se altera entre o subjugar e o enaltecer da figura feminina, compartilha a ideação cultural e a imposição da efígie de indivíduo puro e imaculado – a glória – porém marcada pela desigualdade de gênero que transcende o contemporâneo de produção das obras – a loucura.

Abstract:
This research aimed to identify which factors promote the alternation between the valorization and devaluation of female characters portrayed in the works Inocência, by Visconde de Taunay, Fogo Morto, by José Lins do Rego and Lavoura Arcaica, by Raduan Nassar. In order to meet the general objective, it was necessary to identify the characteristics of Brazilian regionalistic prose, understand gender discussions, describe the historical and cultural values into force in the period of production of the selected works, analyze the female characters Inocência, in Inocência; Sinhá and Olívia, in Fogo Morto and Ana, in Lavoura Arcaica, from the historical context of the production of the works. Moreover, it was also needed to identify and describe the adequacy or inadequacy factors of the female characters selected for the analysis in relation to the historical period of the narratives. The method adopted was the reading of the works Inocência, Fogo Morto and Lavoura Arcaica, and a theoretical review of the subjects that compose the theme of this study: regionalist prose, Brazilian historical-cultural context in the periods of 1872, 1943 and 1975, and articles that discuss gender issues. After reading the regionalist works, the most expressive female characters in the three narratives were selected. After that, a comparative analysis between the fictional character and the real context of women from the same historical time was developed. The research results point out that the historical time of the narratives - comprised between the middle of the 19th century and the end of the 20th century – is marked by the intense depreciation of women, who were often despised and placed at a lower social level if compared to the male figure. In fiction, this practice that engages into switching between the subjugation and the exaltation of the female character shares the cultural ideation and the imposition of the effigy of a pure and immaculate individual – the glory – but marked by gender inequality that transcends the contemporary production of works – madness.
