Abstract: The present study aims to present some strategies that can be used in the teaching of biology as a possibility to favor protagonism in high school. The approach is qualitative, supported by bibliographic research with authors and educational documents that discuss the categories education, citizenship, youth protagonism and Teaching of Biology. The study showed that teaching Biology using scientific research and creative methodologies has produced good results in the quest to strengthen youth leadership. It is hoped that this study can contribute to the educational area, especially as a contribution in stimulating the teaching of Biology as a focus to enable the construction of politicized, critical and active young people, who can contribute to the configuration of a more democratic, critical and active society .
