Abstract: The project presented the construction of a sustainable homemade battery, developed with recyclable materials, to demonstrate the principles of electrochemistry and promote sustainability-based teaching practices. Aluminum cans, copper wires, and a saline solution (NaCl) were used to form electrochemical cells connected in series. The system generated enough current to power an LED and a calculator, confirming the feasibility of converting chemical energy into electrical energy. The activity proved effective in teaching concepts such as redox reactions, potential difference, and galvanic processes, while also raising awareness about the responsible disposal of batteries.
