Empreendedorismo rural: uma categoria de análise em ascensão
Este artigo tem como objetivo
apontar o cenário das publicações sobre
empreendedorismo rural, partindo da busca
pela base de dados Scopus no período de 2007
a 2016 e, na sequência verificar o escopo de
utilização do termo “empreendedorismo rural”
buscando caracterizar esta categoria de análise.
A metodologia delineou-se como exploratória,
descritiva caracterizando o estudo bibliométrico.
Constatou-se um aumento no número dos
estudos sobre o empreendedorismo rural,
apesar de algumas quedas durante a última
década. Os Programas de Pós-Graduação que
mais enfatizaram o empreendedorismo foram
Engenharia da produção e Administração,
respectivamente. O escopo do termo
“empreendedorismo rural” revela a dinamicidade
do uso remontando às discussões de cunho
teórico e empírico que buscam a definição do
termo quando associado ao contexto rural.
Considerando as ressalvas de uma pesquisa
exploratória, o empreendedorismo rural se
consolida como categoria analítica permitindo
inúmeras associações temáticas como por
exemplo, agricultura familiar, questões de
gênero, dinâmicas específicas de produção,
perfis e características do empreendedor,
dentre as mais diversas problemáticas do rural.

Abstract:
This article aims to point out the
scenario of publications on rural entrepreneurship,
starting from the search for the Scopus database
from 2007 to 2016, and then verify the scope of
use of the term “rural entrepreneurship” seeking
to characterize this category of analysis. The
methodology was delineated as exploratory,
descriptive characterizing the bibliometric study.
There has been an increase in the number of
studies on rural entrepreneurship, despite
some declines over the last decade. The
Postgraduate Programs that most emphasized
entrepreneurship were Production Engineering
and Administration, respectively. It is suggested
that researches be deepened in methodological
aspects, identification of empirical, theoretical
and other pertinent aspects. The scope of
the term “rural entrepreneurship” reveals the
dynamicity of the use going back to theoretical
discussions that seek to define the term when
associated with the rural context. There are also
applications in empirical realities demonstrating
the challenge, to establish itself as an analytical
category in theoretical debates and as an
alternative, perhaps, to improving the quality of
life of populations, whether urban or rural. The
scope of the term “rural entrepreneurship” reveals the dynamicity of the use going back
to discussions of a theoretical and empirical nature that seek to define the term when
associated with the rural context. Considering the caveats of an exploratory research,
rural entrepreneurship is consolidated as an analytical category allowing numerous
thematic associations such as family farming, gender issues, specific production
dynamics, entrepreneur profiles and characteristics, among the most diverse rural
problems.
