• Abstract: This research seeks to describe the mathematical practices that an elderly community has through its savings and purchase strategies, thus identifying and emerging its mathematical thinking supported by the Ethnomathematics Program (D'ambrosio, 2012). This is ascribed to an economic perspective that discovers how actors categorize, order and organize sociocultural and economic phenomena in their minds, from which emerges the Ethnomodel which is a valuable primary of the sociocultural experience that generates transformations and  variants  which is a valuable data from the socio-cultural experience that generates transformations and variants. This brings actors to ratify their socio-cultural contexts
