Abstract: This text offers us a journey through the General Theory of the State, dealing with topics such as: the relationship between concepts of Philosophy of Sciences and a possible association with generations of constitutions; a discussion about a possible monarchical principle that permeated the constitutions of the members of the German Empire in the 19th century, its impact on other empires, such as the Japanese, and its decline in the face of the dawn of Hans Kelsen's ideas; a debate on guardians of constitutions in Kelsen and Carl Schmitt and a possible relationship with effective, ineffective and illegitimate constitutions, which constitute categories close to those suggested by Karl Loewenstein to understand constitutions in States.
