Abstract: In today's world, universities play a crucial role in shaping entrepreneurs; this task goes beyond the mere transmission of knowledge, as it must also help to foster the economic and social growth of a community. This article offers a review of what recent studies have found regarding the role of higher education in promoting entrepreneurship, analyzing the academic literature from the current period of 2015 to 2025. It is analyzed that entrepreneurial training should be a cross-cutting axis, integrated with an institutional vision that involves providing an innovative shift in the way of teaching, creating robust support structures, and linking them with the ecosystem. Through the analysis of various sources, some methodologies were recognized, and it was acknowledged that the role of the educator is crucial for transforming circumstances. Additionally, equity and inclusion are important, as all young individuals must have the same opportunities regardless of their conditions. There are some models that could be key for a university seeking to make a real change: the triple helix model, which links academia, industry, and government, or social entrepreneurship, which aims to improve conditions for everyone and for the planet. These approaches can assist a university in generating positive changes that endure over time. Persistent challenges have been addressed, such as assessing the real impact, the issue of separation in disciplines, and the gender gaps between men and women. Ultimately, what entrepreneurship aims to achieve within universities is to produce a significant change in society, a social transformation with ethical meaning.
