Abstract: The present project aimed to study different refrigeration systems in the frozen food sector of a supermarket. The main objective was to compare three refrigeration systems to determine which was more efficient in terms of energy consumption and aliments conservation. Three cold rooms using that work with the low condensing system were compared with The conventional parallel system and The parallel EVI (economized vapor injection) system, each one as a single unit with its own equipment, were compared amongst each other. All data were collected during a 44 days period in a supermarket located in the city of Pirajui, SP, in 2021. Racks Plotter was the company responsible for the instalation and assembly of all the cited equipments, as well as generation of reports for each tested system based on temperature graphics and energy consumption. The low condensing system presented a calculated potency (kW) 9,54% lower than the conventional paralel system, and 5,08% lower than the parallel EVI system. Therefore, the low condensing system proved to be more efficient in energy consumption using a less potent compressor than The othe two studied systems.
