EFICIÊNCIA DE DIFERENTES PRODUTOS NO PREPARO DE PEÇAS CAVITÁRIAS DESIDRATADAS
Os objetivos com este capítulo
foram substituir a fixação em formol pelo álcool
e testar alternativas ao uso da terebintina
na desidratação de peças cavitárias. Foram
utilizados 16 estômagos de suínos, fixados
em álcool 70%, e distribuídos em quatro
tratamentos de acordo com o material utilizado
para desidratação: terebintina, aguarrás,
thinner ou querosene. Concluiu-se que o álcool
pode substituir o formol na fixação das peças
cavitárias e que o uso do thinner apresentou
vantagens em relação aos outros produtos
testados na desidratação desses órgãos.

Abstract:
The objectives with this chapter
were to substitute the formaldehyde fixation
by alcohol and to test alternatives to the use
of turpentine in the dehydration of cavity parts.
Sixteen pig stomachs were used, fixed in alcohol
70%, and distributed in four treatment according
to the material used for dehydration: turpentine,
aguarrás, thinner or kerosene. It was concluded
that alcohol can substitute the formaldehyde in
fixation of cavity parts and that the use of thinner
presented advantages over other tested products in the dehydration of these organs.
