EFICÁCIA DE FORMULAÇÃO FITOTERÁPICA CONTENDO ÓLEO ESSENCIAL DE SYZYGIUM AROMATICUM NO TRATAMENTO DE TINEA PEDIS - ESTUDO DE CASO
As dermatomicoses constituem
um problema de saúde pública, sendo que as
dermatofitoses, especificamente a tinea pedis,
popular frieira, afeta cerca de 15% da população
mundial. Devido às necessidades de tratamento
destas patologias, existem demasiadas opções
de antifúngicos, porém os inúmeros efeitos
colaterais das drogas sistêmicas, bem como a
toxicidade e o crescente índice de resistência
fúngica aos medicamentos disponíveis, têm
sido fatores estimulantes para busca de novas
alternativas de tratamento, como o uso de
produtos de origem natural. O presente estudo
se propôs a avaliar a eficácia da utilização de
formulação fitoterápica de uso tópico contendo
óleo essencial (OE) de Syzygium aromaticum,
o eugenol, como opção para o tratamento
de um caso de tinea pedis. Sendo assim, o
trabalho partiu da extração do OE e preparo da
formulação, seguido do tratamento e registro
fotográfico de estudo etnofarmacológico do OE
e buscas da literatura científica. Os resultados
alcançados com uso do eugenol, visto no registro
fotográfico, sendo este retratado antes e durante
o tratamento, indicou significativa melhora e
eficácia na redução das lesões causadas por
fungos dermatofíticos no caso específico de
tinea pedis. Porém, há necessidade de maiores
estudos para analisar o resultado do tratamento
de maneira mais clara e eficaz.

Abstract:
Dermatomycoses are a public
health problem, being that dermatophytosis,
specificall the tinea pedis, a popular ringworm,
affects about 15% of the world population.
Due the treatment needs of these pathologies,
there are too many antifungal options, but the
number of side effects of systemic drugs, as
well the toxicity and the increasing rate of fungal
resistance to the available drugs, have been
stimulating factors for search for new alternatives
of treatment, such as the use of products of a
natural origin. This study propose to evaluate
the efficacy of use a topical herbal formulation
containing an essential oil (EO) of Syzygium
aromaticum, the eugenol, as an option for the
treatment of a case of tinea pedis. Therefore, this work started from the extraction
of EO and preparation of a formulation, followed by the treatment and photographic
record of etnopharmaological study of the EO and searches of the scientific literature.
The results obtained with the use of eugenol, seen in the photographic record, being
portrayed before and during the treatment, indicated a significant improvement and
efficacy in the reduction of the lesions caused by dermatophytic fungi, specially case
of tinea pedis. However, further studies and tests are needed to analyze the treatment
outcome more clearly and effectively
