Abstract: Kawasaki Disease is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. This study examined the effectiveness of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) during the acute phase, focusing on its role in preventing coronary artery lesions. Based on a critical review of 28 scientific studies, it was identified that early IVIG administration significantly reduces cardiovascular complications. Moreover, alternative therapies such as infliximab and the use of biomarkers were highlighted as promising approaches in resistant cases. It is concluded that IVIG remains a safe and effective treatment, although it requires personalization and diagnostic support in refractory situations.
