EFEITO DOS TRATAMENTOS MULTIDISCIPLINARES EM PACIENTES COM DISFUNÇÃO TEMPOROMANDIBULAR – UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
A desordem temporomandibular é um conjunto heterogêneo de alterações que são associadas a dor, disfunção da articulação temporomandibular e de estruturas associadas. Os protocolos de tratamento clínico, em geral, utilizam placas oclusais como primeira escolha de abordagem, porém, considerando a etiologia multifatorial de tal patologia, as placas oclusais não devem ser utilizadas como o único plano de tratamento, mas associadas com outras estratégias terapêuticas, como medicamentos, fisioterapia e psicoterapia, visando melhores resultados a longo prazo. Para a obtenção de dados, esta revisão de literatura foi baseada em 8 artigos pesquisados na plataforma SciElo e Pubmed, publicados no período entre 2012 a 2020.

Abstract:
Temporomandibular disorder is a heterogeneous set of changes that are associated with pain, dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint and associated structures. Clinical treatment protocols, in general, use occlusal plaques as the first choice of approach, however, considering the multifactorial etiology of such pathology, occlusal plaques should not be used as the only treatment plan, but associated with other therapeutic strategies, such as medications, physiotherapy and psychotherapy, aiming at better long-term results. To obtain data, this literature review was based on 8 articles researched on the SciElo and Pubmed platform, published between 2012 and 2020.
