• Abstract:

  This work analyzed the social

  effects of labor conditions of palmicultural sector

  in Maní municipality (Casanare-Colombia) and

  proposed alternative solutions. Thirty-nine surveys were applied to directors and/

  or managers of the companies in the sector. Surveys were used as tools to identify

  causes, effects of the labor conditions of the union and the level of local employability

  in agricultural and agronomic job. The results showed unfavorable labor situation

  that afflicts this sector, showing absence of social benefits, lack of recognition, job

  dissatisfaction, low salary allocation and absence of Occupational Health and Safety

  Management System. The implementation and demand in compliance with formal labor

  market policies and inclusion of local labor by direct contracting with the production

  company were proposed as solution alternatives.
