Abstract: This paper analyzes gender issues in the context of early childhood sexual education, based on the theoretical contributions of authors such as Louro (1997), Finco (2009), Ruis (2015), among others. Sexual education is presented as an essential right for the integral development of children, and should promote respect for diversity and combat social inequalities. The theoretical basis is based on the understanding of gender as a social construction (Scott, 1995) and on the critical perspective of sexuality (Foucault, 1999; Weeks, 2016). Qualitative methodological procedures were used, according to Bogdan and Biklen (1994) and action research described by Thiollent (1986). The results indicate the importance of inclusive pedagogical practices that share the multiple identities present in the school and that promote the deconstruction of stereotypes. In addition, the need for adequate teacher training to address gender and sexuality issues in an ethical and responsible manner is highlighted. It is concluded that sexual education, based on ethical and scientific principles, must be incorporated as a transformative and inclusive educational practice, contributing to the formation of a more just and equitable society.
