Abstract: to report the experience of the implementation of the identification bracelet in a public security hospital. Method: experience report, developed from January to December 2016, in clinical, surgical and emergency care units. Results: through the implementation of the identification bracelet, it was possible to qualify the safe care to the patient, contribute to the reduction of adverse events and promote the involvement of the patient and family. Final Thoughts: the study demonstrated that the involvement of professionals, the support of the direction and the availability of a professional for this process, sensitize the actors involved, with this, through permanent education, allow this experience to occur successfully, incorporated as a practice of the institution.
