EDUCAÇÃO JURÍDICA NO TIMOR-LESTE: UM ESTUDO DE CASO
Este artigo analisa a educação jurídica no Timor-Leste, antiga colônia portuguesa que a pouco tempo conseguiu sua independência e tem lutado por autonomia e para estabelecer sua cultura sobre normas jurídicas impostas pelo outrora colonizador. Diante de inúmeros desafios que a jovem nação enfrenta, o estabelecimento de instituições de ensino superior voltadas a comunidade daquele país se revela uma questão emblemática. Ainda mais quando se trata da educação jurídica, uma vez que o país editou sua Constituição apenas em 2002, incluindo daí as carreiras jurídicas. Desta forma, este artigo buscou analisar as características da educação jurídica na jovem democracia timorense, compreendendo os dilemas e dificuldades que são encontrados para o ensino do Direito.

Abstract:
This article examines legal education in Timor-Leste, former portuguese colony that recently gained its independence and has been fighting for autonomy and to establish its culture under legal rules imposed by the former colonizer. Faced with countless challenges that the young nation faces, the establishment of higher education institutions aimed at the community of that country is an emblematic issue. Even more when it comes to legal education, since the country only published its Constitution in 2002, including legal careers. Thus, this article sought to analyze the characteristics of legal education in the young timorese democracy, understanding the dilemmas and difficulties that are encountered in the teaching of Law.
