Abstract: This research is part of the philosophical branch of education, as it discusses critical social issues in order to question the role of educational subjects in the search for social transformation. The choice of the theme was based on the importance of understanding how education contributes to the process of social emancipation of the individual, making them critical and capable of acting socially autonomously and at the same time collectively. The objective of the study is to analyze the ideas of Theodor Adorno and Paulo Freire regarding emancipatory education, identifying how education can act in order to form citizens for the transformation of society. Regarding the research methodology, qualitative bibliographical research was used, as theoretical support we mainly used the authors Freire and Adorno. The research highlights the impacts of education on society and shows us the relationship between the aforementioned authors and education and, consequently, social transformation.
