EDUCAÇÃO E DEMOCRACIA A POSSIBILIDADE DE DESENVOLVIMENTO E INTEGRAÇÃO SOCIAL
Esta pesquisa tem a seguinte
questão central: “Qual é o papel da educação
na efetivação de uma sociedade democrática
em busca do desenvolvimento e da integração
social?”. Para alcançar o objetivo, será
realizada a análise sobre os conceitos de
democracia e educação em Dewey e Anísio
Teixeira. Em um segundo momento pretendese
analisar a visão de educação de Teixeira
e sua preocupação com o desenvolvimento
nacional. A pesquisa se propõe a analisar a
apropriação destes conceitos de democracia,
educação e desenvolvimento nas reformas
educacionais brasileiras buscando evidenciar
se adotam a abordagem da integração social.
Na perspectiva destes autores, o conceito
de educação está relacionado ao processo
reconstrutivo da experiência como base para a
formação de cidadãos conscientes, reflexivos,
produtores da realidade social e aptos a
viverem ativamente no seio de uma sociedade
democrática, rompendo com os paradigmas
alienantes impostos pela sociedade dominante.
Esta pesquisa segue uma metodologia de
caráter qualitativo, estudando a realidade a
partir de estudos bibliográficos já existentes
acerca do tema. O estudo objetiva também
provocar reflexões sobre a maneira que uma
sociedade democrática e integrada socialmente,
através da apropriação do conhecimento
sistematizado e da cultura, contribui para o seu
desenvolvimento nesse modelo de sociedade.

Abstract:
This research has the following
central issue: “What is the role of education in
the accomplishment of a democratic society in
search of development and social integration?”.
To reach the objective, an analysis about the
concepts of democracy and education in Dewey
and Anísio Teixeira will be conducted. After that,
the intention is to analyze Teixeira´s point of
view about education and his concern with the
national development. The research proposes
to analyze the appropriation of these concepts:
democracy, education and development in
the Brazilian educational reforms, seeking to
highlight the approach of social integration.
In these authors´ perspective, the concept
of education is related to the reconstructive
process of experience as the basis for the
formation of conscious and reflective citizens,
producers of their social reality and able to live
actively within a democratic society, rupturing with the alienating paradigms imposed
by the dominant society. This research follows a methodology of qualitative character,
studying the reality from existing bibliography about the theme. The paper also aims
to provoke reflections on the way that a democratic and socially integrated society,
through the appropriation of systematized knowledge and culture, can contribute to its
development in this model of society.
