Abstract: The present study analyzed the application of active methodologies in teaching mathematics in the early years of elementary school in the Amazonian context. With the aim of understanding how these approaches can contribute to more meaningful, inclusive and contextualized learning to regional realities, the research was conducted using an exploratory approach. It was based on a bibliographical review and theoretical analysis of academic publications that discuss both active methodologies and specific educational challenges in the Amazon region. The results highlight that active methodologies represent a promising alternative to overcome barriers in teaching mathematics in the Amazon, such as precarious infrastructure, insufficient teacher training and the cultural and linguistic diversity of students. Strategies such as problem-based learning and the use of contextual resources proved to be effective in making teaching more dynamic, meaningful and connected to the local reality. It is concluded that, by adapting active methodologies to the Amazonian context, it is possible to transform the educational scenario, promoting more accessible and engaging mathematics, capable of positively impacting the academic performance and educational inclusion of students in the region.
