EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL: RECICLAGEM DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS - CONSCIENTIZAÇÃO DE ALUNOS DE UMA ESCOLA MUNICIPAL EM TERESINA/PIAUÍ
A produção de resíduos sólidos é um dos grandes desafios da humanidade face aos grandes problemas ambientais, consequência da grande quantidade produzida e da falta de consciência ambiental da população, devido principalmente à desinformação ou ao não engajamento dos cidadãos nas práticas ambientais. Dessa forma, a Educação Ambiental deve estar presente na vida dos cidadãos o quanto antes, principalmente naqueles em processo de formação. O propósito é que as atitudes, em relação ao ambiente, sejam bem pensadas e resultem na redução dos efeitos negativos causados por atividades, como o descarte inadequado de resíduos. Foi realizada uma experiência com tratativas educativas com alunos da rede municipal, com o objetivo de mostrar a importância da participação da população nas questões ambientais, como atores e como fiscais, para que se possa contribuir na redução dos problemas. A atividade foi desenvolvida na Escola Municipal Murilo Braga de Teresina-Piauí, para alunos do 4º ano do ensino fundamental e o tema abordado foi "Coleta e reciclagem de lixo". Os alunos se mostraram muito interessados, participativos de todas as atividades e sensíveis às mudanças em relação ao meio ambiente, porém, observou-se também que a cooperação nas questões ambientais não faz parte do seu cotidiano e por isso não são aplicadas com constância. Assim, a Educação Ambiental deve iniciar desde os primeiros contatos da criança com a escola e ser constante para que faça parte do cotidiano do futuro cidadão e estes possam ser multiplicadores de conhecimento dentro das suas casas e na sociedade.

Abstract:
Solid waste production is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity due to the vast environment problems. This happens because of the large amount of waste produced and the lack of population environmental awareness due to the scarcity of information or to the lack in population engagement to environmental issues. Thus, the environmental education must be in the citizen’s daily life as soon as possible, mainly in the life of those that are in formation process and will become necessarily multipliers of knowledge. The goal is that the attitudes towards environment become well planned and resulting in the reduction of negative effects caused by activities such as the inappropriate waste disposal. An experience with municipal school students was realized by means of educative discussions. Its purpose was to show the importance of population participation in the environment issues, acting in the inspection so that it can contribute with the problems reduction. The activity took place in a municipal school called Murilo Braga, located in Teresina-PI, with the 4th grade of elementary school students and the subject was: “Recycling and Garbage collection”. The students showed themselves very interested and engaged in all the activities, and also sensitive to necessary changes regarding the environment. However, it was observed that cooperation on environmental issues is not part of their daily life and not applied consistently.Thus, environmental education must start from the first contacts of the child with the school and be constant so that it becomes part of the daily life of the future citizen, so they can be multipliers of knowledge within their homes and in society.
