Abstract: Using a qualitative methodology based on Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology and Geertz's interpretative ethnography, the study investigates how Boe children experience and perceive nature in their daily lives. The research seeks to understand how these experiences can inspire environmentally sustainable educational practices and contribute to a critical and transformative environmental education, based on interdependence with the environment and respect for diverse forms of life. The research is being conducted in the Tadarimana Indigenous Land in Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso. The research discusses indigenous school education, focusing on the relationship between Boe children and nature, highlighting the importance of environmental education for indigenous communities. Contrary to the historically imposed Eurocentric educational model, indigenous practices promote a deep connection with nature, built from worldviews that value belonging and respect for the environment. As noted by authors such as Brandão, Baniwa, Tiriba and Guimarães, indigenous education goes beyond the classroom, occurring in diverse contexts and integrating children with nature in an intrinsic way. This approach resists colonial marginalization, which has historically attempted to suppress indigenous knowledge and educational practices. In addition, the research problematizes environmental violence and its consequences for indigenous peoples, who are affected by the exploitation of their territories, often for economic interests. This type of violence threatens biodiversity and the lives of communities, intensifying social inequalities. In response to these threats, indigenous communities reaffirm their practices and fight for the inclusion of their educational and environmental rights in public policies.
