• Abstract:

  The Teaching Project Environmental Building -

  Building a Greener World worked Environmental

  Education and sustainability in the Technical

  Course in Buildings, because it is important that educational institutions also act as

  a space for the construction of being responsible for their environment, both in the

  school community and in the community around them. In this way, the Project aims

  to enable students to approach and reflect critically on the environment in which they

  are inserted, strengthening ecologically correct practices and positively contributing

  to environmental sustainability within and outside their professional area. The target

  audience was a group of students of the Technical Course in Buildings of the Federal

  Institute of Alagoas - IFAL - Campus Coruripe. Theoretical classes were held in the

  classroom and in the Campus computer lab, field classes and recycling workshops.

  With this, there was a greater awareness of the importance of good ecological practices

  through the experience of those involved in the project in their different scenarios

  where the central theme was contextualized and practiced. It was possible to motivate

  discussions and debates that certainly promoted the expansion of knowledge and

  reflection around the dimensions of Environmental Education and Sustainability. The

  actions carried out with the students involved made each individual a potential multiplier

  of sustainable practices and a social actor aware of its importance for the maintenance

  of environmental balance.
