Abstract: Alternative economies in Latin America are characterized by cooperative and solidarity-based practices that counter neoliberal capitalism and seek to reorganize the social relations of production, distribution, and consumption in order to improve the lives of all people by focusing on solidarity, reciprocity, and self-management. However, they face challenges in their ability to increase resources. The reviewed studies present alternative economies as proposals that counter traditional and indigenous practices, especially in rural contexts, as a response to neoliberal capitalism and the social and economic inequalities generated by the region's development. However, the aim is not to create an isolated system but rather to generate alternatives and more just, sustainable, and equitable social organizations. Therefore, content analysis is commonly associated with the informal sector and is classified as: popular economy, where market sectors perform their own labor, developing in fairs, street vendors, etc.; the labor economy, which promotes community and participatory work; The social economy and solidarity economy, in which it is the center of activity, prioritizing cooperation, solidarity, and sustainability; furthermore, the theoretical framework relates the topic to the social and solidarity economy (SSE), good living, and post-development. These economies are considered to constitute a niche of endogenous social and productive innovation, crucial for the formulation of policies that promote community resilience, unlike the conventional economy, which tends to be commodified. Furthermore, the systematic literature review (SLR) aimed to identify and analyze the main concepts regarding alternative economies, using databases such as Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), and Redalyc
