DO CONCRETO A MEMÓRIA: O MONUMENTO COMO REPRESENTAÇÃO
O artigo traz a tona um aspecto
histórico imerso no presente e, busca
contextualizar um monumento como
representação material que refaz memória.
Para isso, propõe-se a análise do monumento
erigido no município de Santa Helena – PR,
em memória à marcha de Luiz Carlos Prestes.
O objetivo central do estudo é explorar se
essa representação material de um evento
passado funciona como uma forma simbólica
de instituição de um lugar de memória através
de ritualização e de uma intervenção urbana. A
metodologia adotada foi à revisão bibliográfica,
sendo que o levantamento dos dados consistiu
na pesquisa documental clássica, e em parte,
no uso de fontes impressas (folders, fotografias
e matérias de jornais). O arcabouço teórico
gira em torno de discussões que envolvem
os conceitos ligados à história e memória.
Como resultado, se observa a disputa pela
preservação da memória, o que se evidencia
através da articulação entre a representação
do monumento e a tentativa de ritualização em
torno do lugar, e, nesse sentido, foi possível
verificar que o município ao contextualizar
o monumento e refazer sua história, refaz e
concretiza memórias, pois a memória está
concretizada ali. Dessa forma, este estudo
contribui para a produção do conhecimento e
serve de pano de fundo e abertura para estudos
futuros.

Abstract:
The article brings to the fore a
historical aspect immersed in the present and
seeks to contextualize a monument as a material
representation that evokes our memories. For
this, it is proposed an analysis of the monument
erected in the municipality of Santa Helena - PR,
in memory of the march of Luiz Carlos Prestes
should be made.The central objective of the study is to explore whether this material as
a representation of a past event, functions as a symbolic form of institution of a place
of our memory through ritualization and urban intervention.The methodology adopted
was a bibliographical review, and the data collection consisted of classic documentary
research, and partly the use of printed resources (folders, photographs and newspaper
articles).The theoretical framework revolves around discussions that involve concepts
related to history and memory. As a result, the dispute for the preservation of memory
is observed, which is evidenced by the articulation between the representation of the
monument and the attempt of ritualization around the place, and in this sense, it was
possible to verify that the municipality in contextualizing the monument and to remake
history, remakes and concretizes memories, because the memory is fulfilled there.Thus,
this study contributes to the production of knowledge and serves as a background and
openness for future studies.
