DO CONCEITO DE ESPAÇO: UMA REFLEXÃO A CERCA DA ARQUITETURA DO ESPAÇO ESCOLAR
Refletir acerca da arquitetura do espaço escolar, considerando o conceito de espaço, os elementos semióticos do espaço, assim como as mudanças trazidas pela modernidade sobre o que constitui espaço escolar hoje, é o objetivo deste texto. As reflexões apresentadas são descentes de outros estudos, sendo dois trabalhos dissertativos e outras publicações que verteram seus olhares sobre a semiótica do espaço escolar, com o intuito de analisar a dinâmica da significação do espaço e sua conceituação no universo arquitetônico. A metodologia utilizada foi a de um estudo teórico sobre o conceito de espaço abarcado pela ciência arquitetônica, sem, contudo, desconsiderar os princípios básicos da educação. A base teórica assentou-se em Pierce e Santaella para entender o lugar os signos e das significações; e Artigas, Carpintero e Zevi, entre outros, para a compreensão do conceito de espaço. Concluiu-se que linguagem é o invólucro que faz com que a percepção do conceito de espaço e do espaço escolar seja formada e, sobretudo, moldada pelas necessidades e anseios do homem.

Abstract:
Reflecting on the architecture of the school space, considering the concept of space, the semiotic elements of the historically constructed school space, as well as the changes brought about by modernity about what constitutes school space today, is the objective of this text. The reflections presented here are descended from other studies, two dissertation works and other publications that have revealed their views on the semiotics of the school space, to analyze the dynamics of the meaning of space and its conceptualization in the architectural universe. The methodology used was that of a theoretical study on the concept of space that emits architectural science, without, however, disregarding the basic principles of education. The theoretical basis was based on the theories of Pierce and Vygotsky to understand the place of signs and meanings; and Artigas, Carpintero and Zevi, among others, for the understanding of the concept of space. It was concluded that language is the wrapper that makes the perception of the concept of space and school space be formed and, above all, shaped by the needs and longings of man.
