DIVERSIDADE E (IN)TOLERÂNCIA RELIGIOSA NA EDUCAÇÃO: O CASO DAS ESCOLAS MUNICIPAIS DE SÃO JOÃO DA BOA VISTA-SP
O estudo que foi base para a realização desse texto teve como objetivo analisar os casos de tolerância/intolerância religiosa nas escolas municipais de São João da Boa Vista-SP. Para tanto, primeiro foi feita uma fundamentação teórica sobre a relação entre Direitos Humanos, Diversidade e Educação a fim de que o material empírico pudesse ser apreciado de acordo com as reflexões acadêmicas de vanguarda da Antropologia e da chamada Educação Multicultural e, na sequência, foram realizadas entrevistas com professores da Educação Fundamental da rede municipal de ensino de São João da Boa Vista através do Google Forms, a fim de buscar identificar a percepção dos profissionais do município sobre a questão. Concluiu-se com o estudo que, apesar de haver alguns esforços positivos que foram identificados no sentido de buscar mitigar os casos de intolerância religiosa e de valorizar a diversidade nas instituições de ensino, eles ainda devem ser considerados insuficientes para que se construa uma escola de fato multicultural e multirreligiosa, uma vez que o predomínio simbólico das religiões de matriz cristã continua dando a tônica, o que muitas vezes é acompanhado por ações preconceituosas e discriminatórias em relação às outras manifestações religiosas.

Abstract:
The study that was the basis for this text aimed to analyze cases of religious tolerance/intolerance in municipal schools in São João da Boa Vista-SP. To do so, first a theoretical foundation was made on the relationship between Human Rights, Diversity and Education so that the empirical material could be appreciated according to the vanguard academic reflections of Anthropology and the so-called Multicultural Education and, in the sequence, interviews were carried out with elementary school teachers from the municipal teaching network of São João da Boa Vista-sp through Google Forms, in order to seek to identify the perception of professionals in the municipality on the issue. It was concluded from the study that, although there are some positive efforts that were identified in order to seek to mitigate cases of religious intolerance and to value diversity in educational institutions, they must still be considered insufficient to build a school truly multicultural and multi-religious, since the symbolic predominance of Christian-based religions continues to set the tone, which is often accompanied by prejudiced and discriminatory actions in relation to other religious manifestations.
