Abstract: The Amarakaeri Communal Reserve (ACR) harbors a rich biodiversity, including a vast ethnobotanical knowledge within its native communities. This study focused on inventorying the flora and documenting the traditional knowledge associated with plants in the communities of Palotoa Teparo and Shipetiari. 10 m x 100 m transects were established for the floristic inventory, recording all individuals with DBH > 10 cm. A total of 417 individuals were recorded, belonging to 188 genera and 64 botanical families. Species richness was high, with 179 species in Palotoa Teparo and 230 in Shipetiari. Diversity indices confirmed the high floristic diversity: Shannon Index (H): 4.684 (Palotoa Teparo) and 5.054 (Shipetiari); Fisher's alpha index: 140.4 (Palotoa Teparo) and 240.9 (Shipetiari). Forty-one different uses for plants were identified in both communities, encompassing medicinal, food, construction and handicrafts categories. This study highlights the importance of the ACR as a reservoir of biological and cultural diversity, and the need for its conservation.
