DISCURSOS SOBRE A SEXUALIDADE INFANTIL NO PROGRAMA “PROFISSÃO REPÓRTER”
Ante a significativa participação
da mídia na construção simbólica das
representações sobre a infância e juventude e
as respectivas repercussões, em especial, no
campo educacional no que tange às questões
de gênero, corpo e sexualidade, neste estudo,
buscou-se analisar como o Programa “Profissão
Repórter”, da Rede Globo de Televisão, abordou
as temáticas associas à sexualidade infantil
e juvenil, para apreender que sentidos estão
sendo construídos e os usos que têm sido feito
desses temas pela mídia. Este estudo sustentase
nos aportes teóricos da Psicologia Social
Crítica, dos Estudos Sociais da Infância e dos
estudos sobre mídia e infância e na metodologia
da Hermenêutica de Profundidade, proposta
por John Thompson. Foram identificados quatro
episódios (cases), cuja análise indicou que a
sexualidade de crianças e jovens foi abordada
no Programa “Profissão Repórter” pela ótica
negativa, ou seja, associada a questões que
envolvem violência, risco, perigo (abuso,
pedofilia, gravidez “precoce”) e que tais temas
receberam uma abordagem sensacionalista e
pouco informativa. Observou-se elementos de
espetacularização nos dois cases que abordaram
o abuso sexual de crianças. Se é inegável que
temos o dever de proteger as crianças de toda
sorte abusos e violências, não é a partir do
espetáculo dessas violências ou da criação de
pânicos morais que iremos enfrentá-las. Nossa
análise visa contribuir para que a mídia reflita
sobre sua produção simbólica, entendendo, tal
como alerta John B. Thompson, que o plano
simbólico não é inócuo, muito pelo contrário, os
discursos são constitutivos e constituídos nos
diferentes modos de estruturação das práticas
sociais.

Abstract:
This study addresses the
significant participation of the media in the
symbolic construction of representations on
childhood and youth and their repercussions,

sexuality. With the aim to apprehend what senses are being constructed and the uses
that have been made of these themes by the media. This study is supported by the
theoretical contributions of Critical Social Psychology, Social Studies of Childhood
and studies on media and childhood and the methodology of Depth Hermeneutics
proposed by John Thompson. Four cases were identified. The analysis indicated that
the sexuality of children and young people was addressed in the “Profissão Reporter”
Program in negative perspective. It can be associated with issues involving violence,
risk, danger (abuse, pedophilia, pregnancy “ precocious “) and that such topics
received a sensationalist approach and little information. It was observed elements
of spectacularization in two cases that dealt with the sexual abuse of children. If it is
undeniable that we have a duty to protect children from all forms of abuse and violence,
it is not from the spectacle of such violence or from the creation of moral panics that we
are going to confront them. Our analysis aims to help the media reflect on their symbolic
production, understanding. According to John B. Thompson, that the symbolic plan is
not innocuous, on the contrary, the discourses are constitutive and constituted in the
different ways of structuring social practices.
