Abstract: The Portuguese-Spanish border is today a multidimensional network, a system of “armor” of cultural interests, of free movement, of growing biophysical rusticity and permeable contiguity of natural species and passageways of migratory or expanding fauna. The aim is to highlight the local geomorphology and the dynamic diversity of the realities of Peneda, for pristine resilience or for convenience, and also the emergence of new values in the territorial systems of this Serra do Alto Minho, on the northern and western limit of the only Portuguese National Park (1970), as a support- case of didactic knowledge of its environment and resources for sustainable development education. The site is a cultural interfluve between the upper Minho-Lima basins, on the municipal border of the municipalities of Arcos de Valdevez and Melgaço (on the border of the municipalities of Arcos de Valdevez and Melgaço), configuring an (informal) proposal for a micro-reserve. The methodology is supported by annual and systematic field visits to this location, since 2009, in the spring period and always scheduled on the weekend between the 1st and 10th of June. This activity of observation and direct registration has as a result a field diagnosis of the realities that occur there and are the material object of consolidated knowledge, new or complementary that shape the info-territorial system of the Peneda hill. From all these field records, a poster was submitted to the XII Iberian Geography Colloquium (Porto 2010). Other results of this field observation and recording activity are now presented, in particular, of the habitat and of the floristic endemism Iris boissieri Henriq. and other dynamic realities of the landscape centered on its biodiversity and heritage importance for this community.
