DIÁLOGO ENTRE RELIGIÕES NOS ESCRITOS DE JOSEPH RATZINGER SOBRE O CONCÍLIO VATICANO II
Atualmente, desenvolvemos no Programa de Pós-Graduação em História, da Universidade Federal da Bahia, uma pesquisa acerca das interpretações sobre o Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965) presentes em escritos publicados pelos teólogos Joseph Ratzinger, atual Papa Emérito Bento XVI, e Leonardo Boff, teólogo e filósofo, expoente da Teologia da Libertação. O Presente artigo é resultante de uma comunicação apresentada no VI encontro Estadual de Ensino de História realizado pela Anpuh Bahia (2021), no Grupo de Discussão Ensino de História e Religião: perspectivas para o enfrentamento da intolerância. Debatemos particularmente as interpretações acerca da relação entre Igreja Católica, outras denominações do Cristianismo e religiões não cristãs nos escritos de Joseph Ratzinger sobre o Concílio Vaticano II. O padre, teólogo, professor e pesquisador alemão; depois feito Bispo; Cardeal (1977); Prefeito da Sagrada Congregação para a Doutrina da Fé (1981-2005), e por fim, Papa (2005-2013), participou daquele concílio e da confecção de alguns de seus textos. No decorrer de sua trajetória intelectual, foi um dos estudiosos católicos engajados nas disputas pela interpretação considerada legítima do evento no interior da Igreja romana.

Abstract:
Currently, in the History Graduate Program of the Federal University of Bahia, we are developing research on the interpretations of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) in some writings published by theologian and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI Joseph Ratzinger, and theologian and philosopher Leonardo Boff, exponent of the Liberation Theology. This article is a result of a lecture given in the 6th State Meeting on History Teaching hosted by the ANPUNH Bahia (2021), in the Religion and History Teaching Discussion Group: perspective for facing intolerance. We debated particularly Joseph Ratzinger’s interpretations of the relationship between the Catholic Church, other Christian denominations, and non-christian religions, in his wirings on the Second Vatican Council. The German father, theologian, professor; later, Bishop, Cardinal (1977); then, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine and of the Faith (1981-2005), and, at last, Pope (2005-2013), took part in that council and in the writing of some of its texts. During his intellectual journey, he was one of the catholic scholars engaged in the disputes over the interpretation considered legitimate for the event inside the Roman Church.
