Abstract: This study aimed to develop a preliminary procedure with the Population Profile Survey of the Municipality of Inhumas-GO, to promote the use of organic urban solid waste, providing those responsible for public administration with subsidies to develop activities linked to sorting and composting this waste, in an ethical and planned manner. The methodology in question was carried out from August 2019 to July 2020 using research techniques with the application of questionnaires and interviews in homes. The analysis of the profile of the city's population, in relation to cultural, economic and social aspects, was carried out in around 30 neighborhoods in the city of Inhumas-GO, reaching 96 households. The results show that the largest portion of households have a family income of 1 to 3 salaries, the majority of those interviewed, at a rate above 50%, have secondary and higher education as their education, a large part of the people interviewed 58.3%, have no idea whatsoever about the main solid waste generated in their daily eating practices, whereas more than 60% of the households surveyed, residents are unaware of the importance of carrying out selective collection in the separation of waste (waste solid and organic), produced daily, that 75% of the people interviewed, seek the best quality of the solid waste generated by separating and correctly disposing of the waste generated in their homes, only 16% of the neighborhoods surveyed, the interviewees say they are representative of public power and that in all the neighborhoods where the research was carried out, there are recyclable waste collectors. We can conclude from the research that the need to implement selective collection effectively in the city of Inhumas-GO is evident. Because there is a huge waste of waste that could be reused and is being discarded.
