Abstract: This article aims to determine the level of stress post COVID-19 pandemic at a University in Southeast Mexico, particularly at the Faculty of Accounting and Administration. The adapted Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) instrument was applied to measure the level of stress in three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. The sample was made up of 2,836 participants, including students and tutors from different faculties. Data were collected through digital surveys and processed with IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results showed high levels of emotional exhaustion (46.5%) and depersonalization (44.8%), as well as low levels of personal accomplishment (62.3%). These results reflect a high prevalence of stress in the university community, which can have a negative impact on the teaching-learning process. It is concluded that it is necessary to implement institutional strategies that promote psychological well-being and reduce the factors that increase academic and work stress.
