Abstract: This research aims to diagnose the main sources of impact on water bodies in the area of confluence between the Brejões River and the Jiquiriçá River, in the town of Jenipapo, municipality of Ubaíra, Bahia. A qualitative approach was used, with bibliographical survey and field activities, including photographic records. The results indicate that the main sources of degradation are related to pig farming, dumping of domestic effluents and agricultural activities on the riverbanks. The study proposes alternative ways to mitigate the damage, contributing to the preservation of water resources and improving the quality of life of the local population.
