DIAGNÓSTICO AMBIENTAL, SOCIAL E ECONÔMICO DA INDÚSTRIA DE CERÂMICA VERMELHA DA REGIÃO SUL DO ESTADO DO CEARÁ
O Setor de Cerâmica Vermelha tem
um importante papel para o desenvolvimento do
país, sobretudo devido à geração de emprego
e renda. Especificamente na região Sul do
estado do Ceará, o setor é responsável por
1701 empregos diretos. Embora importante,
a indústria de Cerâmica Vermelha apresenta
uma série de problemas ambientais. Assim
sendo, a fim de encontrar ações para mitigar
os impactos negativos deste setor, tornase
necessário a avaliação de sua atividade.
Nesta perspectiva, o objetivo deste trabalho
foi realizar um diagnóstico da indústria de
cerâmica vermelha da região Sul do estado do
Ceará, evidenciando seus aspectos ambientais,
sociais e econômicos. Para atingir o objetivo, a
coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de um
questionário estruturado, contendo questões
fechadas e abertas, aplicado in loco em 8 (oito)
empresas. Com base nos resultados obtidos,
pôde-se delinear o perfil socioeconômico e
ambiental do setor na região. Positivamente, foi
verificado que as empresas aplicam medidas
mitigadoras ambientalmente na etapa de
transporte da matéria-prima da jazida até a
fábrica, praticam sazonamento e manutenção
preventiva dos equipamentos. Por outro lado,
as olarias podem melhorar seu desempenho
ambiental, tecnológico e econômico: investindo
em estudos sobre sua matéria-prima, maior
controle da produção e da qualidade de
seus produtos, reaproveitamento do calor
desprendido do forno, bem como em tratamento
médico e treinamento de seus funcionários.

Abstract:
The Red Ceramic Industry has an important role for the development of
the country, mainly due to the generation of employment and income. Specifically in
the southern region of the state of Ceará, the sector is responsible for 1701 direct jobs.
Although, this industry sector presents generates environmental problems. Therefore,
in order to find actions to mitigate the negative impacts of this sector, it is necessary
to evaluate its activity. In this perspective, the purpose of this work was to perform a
diagnosis of the red ceramics industry of the southern region of the state of Ceará,
evidencing its environmental, social and economic aspects. To achieve the objective,
the data collection it was made by means of a structured questionnaire, containing
closed questions and open, applied in loco in 8 (eight) companies. Based on the results
obtained, could be delineated the socioeconomic and environmental profile of the
sector in the region. Positively, it was verified that the industries apply environmental
mitigation measures in the transportation phase from the raw material from the deposit
to the factory, they practice seasoning and preventive maintenance of the equipment.
On the other hand, ceramic industries can improve their environmental, technological
and economic performance: by investing in studies on their raw material, greater control
of its production and products quality, reuse of the heat emanating from the furnace, as
well as medical treatment and training of their employees.
