Abstract: Considering the professional formative purpose in the development of behaviors, skills, and attitudes that align with contemporary aspirations, this article presents the perceptions of students from the first, second, and third years of the High School Course with Professional Qualification as a Technician in Administration – Novotec Intercomplementar – regarding the development of technical and socio-emotional competencies through a Games Day event inspired by the work and life of Educator Paulo Freire. The activities were conducted at the Álvaro de Souza Vieira State School, which offers the technical course as an extension of the Professora Maria Cristina Medeiros State Technical School, stemming from a partnership between the Paula Souza State Center for Technological Education and the São Paulo State Department of Education. This descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, employed field research and case study methodologies. The analysis of the responses indicated that the event's structure facilitated greater integration among the Novotec Intercomplementar course students, strengthening bonds, promoting the exchange of knowledge, and recognizing the final year students as motivating role models for the majority of the research respondents. The stimulation of collaborative sense, interactivity among the classes, and teamwork (72.2%) was perceived as significant, encouraging the reinterpretation of content studied throughout the course. The event demonstrated its potential as a strategy to positively engage the agents of Professional Education, reinforcing the role of the student as a central and active participant in the teaching-learning process.
