Abstract: The present work evaluated the concentration of heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Cd, Zn, Cu, Co, Ni, Cr, Pb, and V) contained in the Sedimentary Particulate Material in the Limoncocha Biological Reserve (RBL) by chemical analysis with spectrophotometry in graphite furnace and gravimetry. Passive sampling equipment, capable of capturing precipitation and sedimentary particles through a collector funnel, was implemented based on international regulations. Monthly samples were taken from November 2016 to June 2017, with eight samples in total. The data obtained allowed the determination of the transport dynamics of heavy metals in Sedimentable Particulate Material within the RBL. They generated a contribution for the final construction of the baseline, which will be used as a tool for the optimal management of the Reserve, constituting the first atmospheric contribution to this topic. PMs values between 24.7 y 1,9 mg/cm2.mes were obtained, and the close correlation between the concentration of MPS and the rainfall in the sector was established. Cuprum is the metal with the highest presence in the PMs; however, no direct correlation was found with the concentration of this metal in the sediments.
