DESPIQUE TROPICAL - A RIVALIDADE NAS MEMÓRIAS E NARRATIVAS DAS BANDAS FILARMÔNICAS PORTUGUESAS DA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRO
O presente artigo discute, em uma abordagem interdisciplinar, fundamentada no campo da memória social, de que forma as rivalidades operam entre as bandas filarmônicas portuguesas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Descreverei, na primeira seção, a relevância das bandas filarmônicas em Portugal e sua atuação nas festas religiosas naquele país. Na segunda seção apresentarei o referencial teórico que embasa o presente trabalho baseado nos conceitos de memória e narrativas em um paradigma socioconstrucionista. Na terceira seção analisarei periódicos locais e segmentos narrativos de experiências pessoais colhidas em entrevistas individuais com sujeitos que atuam nas bandas portuguesas em atividade, procurando identificar de que forma a rivalidade opera como componente de manutenção e aprimoramento nas bandas filarmônicas portuguesas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.

Abstract:
This article discusses, through an interdisciplinary approach, based on the field of social memory, how rivalries operate between the Portuguese philharmonic bands of the city of Rio de Janeiro. I will describe, in the first section, the relevance of philharmonic bands in Portugal and their performance in religious festas in that country. In the second section, I will present the theoretical reference that supports the present work relating memory and narratives in a socioconstructionist paradigm. In the third section, I will analyze local newspapers and narrative segments of personal experiences collected from individual interviews with subjects who still participate in active Portuguese bands, attempting to identify how rivalry operates as a component of maintenance and improvement in the Portuguese philharmonic bands of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
