DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL CONDUZIDO PELA INDÚSTRIA? OBSERVAÇÕES SOBRE O SETOR AUTOMOBILÍSTICO NO MÉDIO PARAÍBA-RJ
A economia, enquanto ciência,
sempre procurou responder as questões
pertinentes a riqueza dos países e,
consequentemente, o desenvolvimento
socioeconômico. A partir da década de 1990,
ocorreram varias mudanças em relação as
tecnologias produtivas e estruturas políticas,
culminando em um aprofundamento da
globalização. Dessa forma, percebeu a
oportunidade de crescimento econômico
no recorte local. Através de estratégias
regionais para atração de grandes empresas
estrangeiras viu-se boa oportunidade de
fomento da economia local. No Médio Paraíba
– RJ, ao Sul do estado, ocorreu a formação
de um cluster automotivo, alavancando a
economia devido os grandes investimentos,
inicialmente em Resende e Porto Real. As
expectativas foram maiores que os efeitos reais.
A pouca participação da sociedade e política
fundamentadas em subsídios contribuem
pouco para um desenvolvimento sólido e de
longo prazo. Ainda que o local seja o campo
de atuação, ele continua sendo apenas parte
de um todo.

Abstract:
Economics, as a science, has
always tried to answer the questions about
wealth of the countries and the socioeconomic
development. From the 1990s, there were
several changes in relation to productive
technologies and political structures, tha
reached in a deepening of globalization. Thus,
was realized the opportunity for economic
growth in the local place. With regional
strategies to attract large foreign companies it
appeared a good opportunity to boost the local
economy. In the Médio Paraíba state of Rio
de Janeiro, south of the state, an automotive
cluster was formed and driving the economy
because great investments, initially in Resende
and Porto Real. Expectations were greater than
the real effects. The low participation of society
and policy based on tax cut contributed little to a
solid and long-term development. Although the
place is the field of action, it remains only part
of a whole.
