DESENVOLVIMENTO E MODERNIZAÇÃO NO TRIÂNGULO MINEIRO: PROJETOS NA CIDADE DE UBERABA

A modernização de um núcleo urbano por meio do desenvolvimento de indústrias capazes dese renovar e expandir para diferentes horizontes durante o tempo é uma característica comumaos grandes centros econômicos do Brasil, porém possui outra dinâmica no interior do país.Em cidades menores e mais afastadas dos centros, persistem discursos tradicionalistas quebaseiam o ganho de capital em atividades estritamente extrativistas, minando a diversificaçãode mercado. A cidade de Uberaba localizada no interior de Minas Gerais é um dos exemplos,pois permanece enclausurada pela agropecuária e tem suas tentativas de sair dessa lógicafrustradas. Neste estudo busca-se explicitar quais foram os mais marcantes empreendimentosque tiveram como objetivo trazer a modernização para o Triângulo Mineiro dentro domunicípio de Uberaba e qual foi o patamar de desenvolvimento que esses projetosalcançaram. A pesquisa também mostra de forma mais geral o impacto do capital estrangeirona alocação do capital interno, fazendo com que atividades econômicas que não possuem opropósito de exportar matéria prima para a centralidade do sistema capitalista, sejammenosprezadas. Através deste artigo pode-se pensar então em alternativas para que omercado aqui construído de fato incorpore o investimento conquistado na cidade e que seprocure arquitetar novos projetos adequados à uma realidade que demanda modernização.

  • Abstract: The modernization of an urban center through the development of industries capable ofrenewing themselves and expanding to different horizons over time is a commoncharacteristic of the large economic centers of Brazil, but it has a different dynamic in theinterior of the country. In smaller cities further away from the centers, traditionalistdiscourses persist that base capital gains on strictly extractive activities, undermining marketdiversification. The city of Uberaba, located in the interior of Minas Gerais, is one example,as it remains enclosed by agriculture and livestock farming and its attempts to escape thislogic have been frustrated. This study seeks to clarify which were the most notable venturesthat aimed to bring modernization to the Triângulo Mineiro region within the municipality ofUberaba and what level of development these projects achieved. The research also shows, ina more general way, the impact of foreign capital on the allocation of domestic capital,causing economic activities that do not have the purpose of exporting raw materials to thecenter of the capitalist system to be undervalued. Through this article, we can then think ofalternatives so that the market built here actually incorporates the investment achieved in thecity and that we seek to design new projects suited to a reality that demands modernization.
