Abstract: Global greenhouse gas emissions reach 50 Gt/year, with the transportation sector contributing significantly, accounting for 24% of these emissions. Therefore, this sector faces the dual challenge of reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating its greenhouse gas emissions. This article proposes and analyzes an innovative hybrid vehicle that integrates an ethanol engine with an electric propulsion system, complemented by onboard photovoltaic panels. Through developmental research methodology and theoretical analysis, the study addresses six critical dimensions: Safety Engineering, Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Agronomy, Environmental Engineering, and Legal Aspects. The results indicate that the synergy between ethanol, a renewable biofuel widely available in Brazil, and solar electric energy can significantly increase energy efficiency and CO2 emission reduction throughout the life cycle, surpassing conventional gasoline and hybrid vehicles. The study concludes that the technical feasibility of the prototype is high. However, its large-scale implementation depends on overcoming regulatory challenges, evolving supply chains, and establishing robust public incentive policies, positioning it as a strategic solution for transportation decarbonization.
