Abstract: The Scherrer equation is a widely used tool for calculating the size of nanocrystals using the X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, through the use of mobile application programming. In this paper, the use of a calculator to find the size of the nanocrystals and the use of the Scherrer equation in the Android programming platform is implemented. The design of the application has become a portable tool, easy to use and interactive. By designing using Android Studio you can run on most cell phones and tablets. The application becomes a very powerful tool for use in teaching methodologies of engineering students of materials science and nanotechnology engineering.
