DESENVOLVIMENTO DE PROJETOS LEAN HEALTHCARE APLICADO ÀS IRAS
Lean Healthcare é uma metodologia de melhoria contínua utilizada para a abordagem de problemas operacionais relacionados à assistência à saúde. Ela tem sido aplicada no atendimento de pacientes para melhorar os resultados clínicos, reduzir a sobrecarga de trabalho de funcionários e aumentar a competitividade das instituições de saúde. Apesar do grande número de publicações sobre Lean Healthcare na literatura científica, poucas abordam sua aplicação em IRAS (Infecções Relacionadas à Assistência à Saúde). IRAS são infecções ocorridas em pacientes submetidos à cuidados de saúde. Elas causam grande sofrimento ao paciente e custam muito para as organizações e para a sociedade pois podem aumentar o tempo de permanência no hospital, os custos de tratamento, a morbidade e a mortalidade. Felizmente, grande parte das IRAS podem ser evitadas ao se estudar os fatores e os processos que favorecem o seu surgimento. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo é propor um fluxo para desenvolvimento de projetos Lean Healthcare associados às IRAS. Esta proposta é capaz de identificar as causas raízes que favorecem a ocorrência de IRAS, assim como promove a elaboração de contramedidas eficientes para atenuar ou eliminar as causas raízes. Dessa forma, a principal contribuição deste estudo é a disponibilização de uma sequência de etapas que orientam a gestão e funcionários atuantes em instituições de saúde na prevenção de IRAS por meio da metodologia Lean Healthcare, o que pode cooperar para o desfecho clínico do paciente e os resultados financeiros da instituição.

Abstract:
Lean Healthcare is a continuous improvement methodology used to address operational problems related to healthcare. It has been applied in patient care to improve clinical results, reduce the workload of employees and increase the competitiveness of healthcare institutions. Despite the large number of publications on Lean Healthcare in the scientific literature, few address its application in HAI (Infections Related to Health Care). HAIs are infections that occur in patients undergoing healthcare. They cause great suffering to the patient and cost a lot to organizations and society as they can increase the length of hospital stay, treatment costs, morbidity and mortality. Fortunately, most IRAS can be avoided by studying the factors and processes that favor their appearance. Thus, the objective of this study is to propose a flow for the development of Lean Healthcare projects associated with HAIs. This proposal is capable of identifying the root causes that favor the occurrence of HAIs, as well as promoting the development of efficient countermeasures to mitigate or eliminate the root causes. Thus, the main contribution of this study is the availability of a sequence of steps that guide management and employees working in health institutions in the prevention of HAIs through the Lean Healthcare methodology, which can cooperate for the clinical outcome of the patient and the patients. financial results of the institution.
