DESEMPENHO FUNCIONAL DE PESSOAS COM COMPROMETIMENTO RESPIRATÓRIO PROVENIENTE DE HIV/AIDS
A Síndrome da Imunodeficiência
Adquirida (SIDA) é uma doença que atinge o
sistema imunológico devido à infecção do Vírus
da Imunodeficiência Humana (HIV). Após a
infecção pelo vírus, o sistema imunológico fica
suscetível ao aparecimento de diversas doenças
por causa da destruição das células de defesa
do organismo. Na evolução da doença há o
aparecimento de infecções oportunistas que
irão acarreta o estado de saúde do indivíduo.
Entre estas estão às doenças respiratórias,
gerando manifestações clinicas que implicarão
no desempenho funcional do paciente. Este
estudo tem como objetivo avaliar o desempenho
funcional dos pacientes com HIV/AIDS e com
comprometimento respiratório, identificando
as áreas de desempenho ocupacional que
são mais comprometidas, além de identificar
a situação sociodemográfica dos sujeitos.
Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo
e de caráter quantitativo, realizado na
unidade respiratória de um hospital público
referência no atendimento de doenças
infecto contagiosas. A coleta foi realizada por
pesquisadores capacitados e foram utilizados
como instrumentos a Medida de Independência
Funcional (MIF) e Classificação Econômica do
Brasil. Verifica-se que o diagnostico presente
entre a maioria dos pacientes é de Tuberculose
Pulmonar, assim como, a maioria dos pacientes
participantes são do sexo feminino e destes
73% encontram-se na classe socioeconômica
D-E. As áreas que apresentaram maiores
comprometimentos funcionais foram em
locomoção e mobilidade. Diante dos resultados
verificam-se com o progresso da doença, os
sujeitos apresentam declínio no desempenho
ocupacional, implicando na diminuição da
independência nas realizações das atividades.

Abstract:
The Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a disease that
affects the immune system due to infection of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus
(HIV). After the virus infection the immune system is susceptible to the appearance
of several diseases because of the destruction of the defense cells of the body. In the
evolution of the disease there is the emergence of opportunistic infections which will
leads to the state of health of the individual. Among these are the respiratory diseases,
generating clinical manifestations that require the patient’s functional performance.
This study aims to evaluate the functional performance of patients with HIV/AIDS and
those with respiratory impairment, identifying areas of occupational performance that
are more compromised, besides identifying the demographic situation of the subject.
This was a cross-sectional study, descriptive and quantitative character, performed in
the Respiratory Unit of a public reference hospital in the care of infectious or contagious
diseases. The collection was performed by qualified researchers and were used as
instruments to measure Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and Economic
Classification of Brazil. Results: It was found that the diagnosis present among the
majority of patients is pulmonary tuberculosis, as well as the majority of participating
patients are female, and of these 73% are in socioeconomic class D-E. The areas that
presented higher functional impairments were in locomotion and mobility. The results
occur with the progress of the disease, the subjects present decline in occupational
performance, resulting in the reduction of independence in the achievements of the
activities.
